Argyrosomus hemilepidotusis a member of theTigertooth croakerfish family and is one of the rare and valuable fish in the Persian Gulf. The body of this spindle fish is large and relatively elongated. The body color on the back of the body is green-brown, the flanks and abdomen are silver and the fins are red. There is a black spot on the base of the pectoral fin. The tail fin is flat or the top corner is sharp and the bottom corner is round. .
The maximum body size of this fish is 150 and the average is 100 cm. This fish can be found in the shallow waters of the Persian Gulf, East Asia, Japan and the Indian Ocean. It feeds on carnivorous and predatory fish such as invertebrates, shrimp, small fish and benthic fish.
White meat of this fish relatively tender and delicious. This fish has a large bony skeleton so that sometimes the weight of the fish reaches 20 to 30 kg. The meat of this fish does not have a razor.
